One of the easiest mistakes to make with reception One of the easiest mistakes to make with reception styling is choosing every detail in isolation.⁠ ⁠ You find a centrepiece you love. Then beautiful candles. Then menus. Then perhaps a little favour for each guest.⁠ ⁠ Individually, perfect.⁠ ⁠ Together? That’s where things can get interesting.⁠ ⁠ When we design reception tables, scale and space matter just as much as colour, flowers or stationery. A low arrangement can leave room for conversation. A narrow candle gives the table height without taking over. One timeline detail we wish couples thought about One timeline detail we wish couples thought about earlier is.... what their guests will be doing while they’re away taking photos.⁠ ⁠ If you’re planning on disappearing for an hour after the ceremony, look at that hour from your guests’ perspective.⁠ ⁠ Have drinks ready rather than making everyone queue at the bar. Start canapés early enough that hungry guests aren’t clock-watching. Give older guests somewhere to sit. Think about shade in summer and warmth when the temperature drops.
